I was so glad to get your comments. Maybe you can give me some advice on how to proceed with this thread. The spool comes with a mesh cover which I used right away but it just flew up the thread so i abandoned that at of no use. What kind of machine do you use? Sit down?
can you give me tension advice? No matter what I do with my tension, the monopoly seems to catch and the stitching stalls. Apparently the monopoly is looping underneath in the bobbin area. i emailed Bob the thread doctor at superior threads. here is what he said:
It sounds like the top tension is too loose, allowing the thread to be pulled underneath. If tightening the top tension results in thread breaking, that means the bobbin tension is too tight.
If i tighten the top tension, the yellow bottomline pulls up to the quilt top. I have played and played with the tension but I cannot resolve the issue. i have used 100wt monofilament before with good results so i put that on my juki. With the same bobbin thread and same tension, the problem seems to go away. I have also used wonderfil 100wt with the wonderful in the bobbin also and that worked out.
Maybe the juki just does not like thread not on a cone. Please give me some hints. Thanks so much!
